BETA CLUB: Membership in National Beta Club available for students in 9th grade and above.
STUDENT COUNCIL: High School students may participate in Student Council.
PROJECT HOST SOUP KITCHEN-SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Join us as we serve at Project Host Soup Kitchen in Downtown Greenville. Sign up for one date or select several dates to serve. When you arrive put on an apron and plan to jump right in cooking and preparing the day's meal under the direction of a crew chief. Jobs include washing dishes, cutting vegetables, making soup, peeling shrimp and restocking shelves.
ICE CREAM DAY: Fall event at lunch. Students enjoy ice cream and all the toppings that will fit in a cup!
SEE YOU THE POLE: Students meet for a special prayer event.
CORN MAZE: October event for all families. Join us at the Anderson maze for a full day of fun and education. All families come for hay rides, bounce houses and plenty of fall fun.
FALL FESTIVAL: Games and activities for students of all ages!
HISTORY MUSEUM FIELD TRIP: Meet at the History museum in downtown Greenville for 2 terrific tours.
SPIRIT DAY: Each year our Student Council selects a theme for the day and students, teachers and volunteers are encouraged to come wearing appropriate attire. Past themes have been Crazy Hat and Wacky Tacky, Celebrate the Decades and Character Day,
DEFY (former Gravitopia): Social for all students and families. Discounted group rate to spend 90 minutes of extended jump time!
AQUARIUM OVERNIGHT: Join us for a night with the sharks at the Ripley's Aquarium in TN. Trip includes a dissection, exclusive night tour, snacks and breakfast and a full day admission to the aquarium.
VALENTINE PARTY: Celebrate Valentines with us as students age 11 and under exchange valentines and enjoy a party with games and crafts. Teens will have a pizza party exclusively for them from 12:30-1:00pm as well as some additional treats.
WINTER SOCIAL: The Student Council plans and hosts a teen social each January. This has become a favorite event for all our teens!
PRESIDENTIAL SERVICE AWARD : Each year Vanguard recognizes students who have shown a commitment to service in the community by presenting the Presidential Service Award.
PRAYING PARENTS: All Parents and teens are invited to join other Vanguard families for "Praying Parents" each Tuesday morning. We will start each morning with a 3-5 minute devotional thought or Scripture highlighting a specific area of our children's lives for which to pray. Then we will share specific prayer needs (5 min.) and spend the remaining time praying together for our children. You are welcome to come every Tuesday, or occasionally, as your schedule permits. If you have questions or would like our families to pray for a need please send an email (email@example.com). 1 Samuel 1:27 "I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him." PROM: VHA hosts the Prom but attendance is open to all homeschoolers. Space is limited so be sure to register early. Prom is open to students age 15 and up who are also in 9th grade and up.
HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION: Vanguard Academy offers a May graduation ceremony to all our seniors and other homeschoolers in the community. Graduation is scheduled for the first weekend in May each year. "Like" us on Facebook for updates about Prom and Graduation. Please email in January for the online registration form.

IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER: Vanguard will follow closings for Greenville County Schools. In case of bad weather we ask families to use their best judgment when deciding to drive. Do not attend if conditions are hazardous. We are listed on the WYFF 4 weather closings and will post to our Facebook page, Newsletter and website. We will evaluate delays or early dismissal separately from the Greenville County School District.
