Many homeschool families choose
to teach their students using curriculum above or below the grade level of
their public school peers. To better help with placement of students
in VHA classes we have divided classes by age. Because this is a group
setting Vanguard priority will be to put students with same age peers. We recognize
that many students are academically capable of doing work above grade level but
we will not advance younger students into classes with teens. Occasionally a student's
maturity level with make them more successful with a younger age group and we
will consider these requests individually. In most cases students should register for the classes that
match their age group. VHA will consider requests to change age
levels on an individual basis.
Students may select up to 6 courses per day.
Late Registrations: We will only accept late registrations for students selecting 3 or more classes.
In an effort to accommodate the growing number of interested students, we have expanded the classes available to students. Please be aware that many of these classes will fill early. Please indicate a second choice of classes when making online class selection. Priority will be given to students registered for a full day of classes. HIGH DEMAND classes include Art, LEGO, STEM, Battle History, First Aid/CPR, Sewing, Guitar Class, Girls' Club, Boys' Club and Culinary Arts.
Lunch is available for students from 12:00-12:30. Students must take morning and afternoon classes to attend lunch.
To best select classes please use the links for each age for a grid of classes and prices as well as course descriptions. Links to course descriptions can also be found on the tab "Classes."
Class Selection generally opens in late June. Many classes are expected to fill quickly. Elementary age groups will have wait lists. Register early to reserve your spot. We are only accepting elementary students taking a full day of classes.
Class selection is a FINANCIAL COMMITMENT. Do NOT select classes unless you are committed to attending. You will be responsible for paying for any classes you select.
If space is available classes may be added to a schedule but classes cannot be dropped. If it is necessary to drop out of a class, you will be bound to satisfy the class tuition for the year. In an attempt to keep our fees as low as possible we must set our yearly budget based on the fall commitment. We are unable to offer refunds for students that drop a class. We understand people have a change of heart or plans change but class selection must be a financial commitment to Vanguard. We are a co-op and working together to provide classes for all our students. The budget is made and financial commitments confirmed as we receive class selection. If you choose to have your student not attend a class you are still responsible for the financial commitment to pay for the class you selected.
Scroll this page for classes by age group or select the tab "Classes" for links to the schedule by age or by subject.
