VANGUARD HOMESCHOOL ACADEMY

Subtitle

Schedule

Many homeschool families choose to teach their students using curriculum above or below the grade level of their public school peers.  To better help with placement of students in VHA classes we have divided classes by age. Because this is a group setting Vanguard priority will be to put students with same age peers. We recognize that many students are academically capable of doing work above grade level but we will not advance younger students into classes with teens. Occasionally a student's maturity level with make them more successful with a younger age group and we will consider these requests individually. In most cases students should register for the classes that match their age group. VHA will consider requests to change age levels on an individual basis.

Students may select one course or up to 6 courses per day.

In an effort to accommodate the growing number of interested students, we have expanded the classes available to students. Please be aware that many of these classes will fill early. Please indicate a second choice of classes when making online class selection. Priority will be given to students registered for a full day of classes.  HIGH DEMAND classes include Art, LEGO, STEM, Battle History, Sewing, Guitar Class, Girls' Club, and Boys' Club.

Lunch is available for students from 11:00am-1:00pm. Students staying on campus through lunch will select one 30 minute lunch time. Students with a longer break than 30 minutes will need to register for Study Hall. Study Hall is available only to students age 12 and up.We encourage students to attend lunch and meet other Vanguard students. The largest lunch attendance is 12:00-12:30 and includes all elementary students and teens. High School lunch is 12:30-1:00 and is only for students age 12 and older.

To best select classes please use the links for each age for a grid of classes and prices as well as course descriptions. Links to course descriptions can also be found on the tab "Classes."

Class Selection for 2018-2019 has not opened. Many classes are expected to fill quickly.

Class selection is a FINANCIAL COMMITMENT. Do NOT select classes unless you are committed to attending. You will be responsible for paying for any classes you select.

Due to the high demand of many of these classes it is unlikely a student registering for just 1 high demand class will be admitted.

Please remember students must be in a class at ALL times. Study Hall is not available for students under 12. Parents must pick up students as soon as their last class is over.

Students may stay at lunch IF they have a class at 11:00/11:30 AND at 12:30. Students should bring their own lunchbox (no peanuts) and after we eat we will play outside when the weather permits.
In an effort to accommodate the large number of students registered for these classes we have expanded the classes available to students age 9. Please be aware that many of these classes will fill early so please indicate a second choice of classes. Priority will be given to students registered for a full day of classes.

Some courses will accept 12 and 13 year old students but must receive permission from the administration for  high school level courses. Because this is a group setting Vanguard priority will be to put students with same age peers.

Students may bring a lunch and join us at 11:00-11:3011:30-12:00pm12:00-12:30pm or 12:30-1:00pm.

Please note that many classes will fill early. Priority will be given to families who participated in early and pre registration in March. Priority is also given to students taking a full day of classes. Students who select only 1 high demand class may not get their first choice of class or time slot. Please be sure to have a second choice in mind when selecting classes.
